Two Wells Fargo mail paths

wellsfargo.com/mynewcard reservation number vs preselectedloan (no printed code)

Credit card mailer (e.g. Reflect®): you get a reservation number. Enter it at wellsfargo.com/mynewcard.

Personal loan mailer: usually no offer code and no reservation number on the paper. The host is wellsfargo.com/preselectedloan. These kits are for existing Wells Fargo customers. The site asks you to sign in — it does not ask you to type a code from the letter.

Why this is confusing

SoFi, Upgrade, Upstart, and Wells card kits train you to hunt a reservation / offer / confirmation code. The Wells personal loan letter looks like those kits — QR, vanity URL, “pre-selected” — but the next step is customer login, not a 6- or 15-digit field. If you searched “Wells Fargo personal loan offer code,” that is why nothing on the page matches.

Scan it — we tell you which path you have

Photograph the mailer. If it is a card kit, we copy the reservation number for wellsfargo.com/mynewcard. If it is a loan kit, we surface the preselectedloan host and the fact that there is no code to type.

Credit card: wellsfargo.com/mynewcard + reservation number

Card invitations print a reservation number. Enter it at wellsfargo.com/mynewcard. The QR on those kits typically speeds you to that host; you still need the printed number if the link does not prefill.

Reflect® kits we have seen advertise a long 0% intro window on purchases and balance transfers, then a variable go-to APR, with a transfer fee. Read the Schumer box on your letter — terms move by campaign.

Personal loan: wellsfargo.com/preselectedloan — sign in, no code

Pre-selected loan kits look “coded” because of the QR. They are not a typed-code flow.

  • Nothing to type from the letter. No reservation number, no offer code, no PCN on the pieces we reviewed.
  • Printed host: wellsfargo.com/preselectedloan (slash in the path — easy to search instead of type).
  • The QR on these kits appears to carry the response payload. Scanning it still lands you in the same existing-customer flow, not a public code field.
  • Existing customers only. The landing page asks you to authenticate with your Wells Fargo online banking credentials. If you do not already bank there, this letter is not a walk-up application path.
That last point is the confusion. Other lenders use the mail code as the key. Wells uses who you already are as a customer. Searching “Wells Fargo loan offer code” will not produce a number that unlocks the page.

Typical claims on these loan mailers (always read your own disclosure):

  • Pre-selected for a personal loan up to about $35,000 (not a guarantee).
  • Example headline on one kit: rates as low as 6.74% APR for a sample $10,000 / 3-year loan with a relationship discount — your rate may be higher.
  • No origination or closing fees and no prepayment penalty on the pieces shown; terms often 12–84 months, minimum around $3,000.
  • Copy states you can check personalized options online without affecting your credit score (soft path to view rates).

QR codes on Wells Fargo letters

Card QR: usually a shortcut to wellsfargo.com/mynewcard. Keep the printed reservation number — you may still need it.

Loan QR: appears to encode the preselectedloan path (and any session payload Wells attached). It does not replace a printed code, because the kit never gave you one. After the scan you still sign in as a customer.

FAQ

Where is my Wells Fargo reservation number?

On card mailers, printed on the letter — enter it at wellsfargo.com/mynewcard. On personal loan mailers, it usually is not there.

Why doesn’t my Wells Fargo personal loan letter have an offer code?

These offers are built for existing customers. Wells identifies you after you sign in at wellsfargo.com/preselectedloan. There is no public reservation field.

I went to wellsfargo.com/preselectedloan and it asked me to log in. Is that right?

Yes. That is the designed path. If you do not have a Wells Fargo login, this mailer is not a stranger-apply flow like a typical fintech reservation code.

Is wellsfargo.com/mynewcard or preselectedloan legit?

Yes. Both are official Wells Fargo response hosts. Use the exact path printed on your kit.

Does checking a pre-selected loan rate hurt my score?

Loan kits state that checking personalized options online will not impact your credit score. A hard pull generally comes if you continue to a full application.
