Reservation is the long one — you reserved a seat at a card you did not ask for. Access is the short one — proof you are holding that exact letter. They sit on the same panel, above the apply-by date. They are not interchangeable, and neither one is a coupon.

Yes. Capital One, N.A. is a real bank. The host on the letter is theirs. It is not Credit One Bank — different issuer, different mail, different two-in-the-morning search.
Peeking with the codes is the prescreen path. Hitting submit is when they commonly pull all three bureaus. The card name on the letter matters: “good credit” Quicksilver / Savor / Venture is not always the same deal as the “excellent” version with the intro APR and the bonus.
